Blessed Is The Man (part 3)

WHY IS HE BLESSED?

"Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD..." Psalm 112.1

First and foremost, this man (woman) is blessed because of the LORD being his personal Savior, security, sanctifier, etc. [Click HERE to read part 2 of Blessed Is The Man.]

2. He is blessed because of the FEAR OF THE LORD.

What is this FEAR? It is far different than the fears faced by humans. The Book of Proverbs will clear the issue.

  • "THE FEAR OF THE LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction." Prov. 1.7
  •  "My son, if you receive my words...then you will understand the FEAR OF THE LORD, and find the knowledge of God." Prov.2.1, 4
  •  "Trust in the LORD...in all your ways acknowledge Him...Be not wise in your own eyes, FEAR THE LORD, and depart from evil." Prov. 3.5-7
  • "THE FEAR OF THE LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the froward mouth do I hate." Prov. 8.13
  • "THE FEAR OF THE LORD is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. For by me, your days will be multiplied, and the years of your life shall be increased." Prov.9.10, 11
  • "THE FEAR OF THE LORD tends to life: and he who has it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil. Prov.19.23
  • "In the FEAR OF THE LORD is strong confidence...THE FEAR OF THE LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death." Prov.14.26, 27
  •  "By humility and THE FEAR OF THE LORD are riches, honor, and life." Prov. 22.4
  • "My son, if your heart be wise...your lips speak right things. Let not your heart envy sinners: but be in THE FEAR OF THE LORD all the day long." Prov.23.15-17

This is the second reason why this man (woman) is blessed.

Today, God Wants You To Enjoy Super Grace (part 6)

9. SPEECH SEASONED WITH GRACE. "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man." Colossians 4.6

There is not a day that we do not speak. Our words can either tear down or build up. Choose to build up, edify or encourage. Use words that manifest the greatness of God's grace, with great taste.

According to the Bible, the tongue is "an unruly evil, full of deadly poison." (James 3.8)] , but the apostle Paul said in Col. 4.6 that we can know or learn how to answer every man graciously.

Today, and always, let us speak words that are seasoned with grace.

Blessed Is The Man (part 2)

WHY IS HE BLESSED?

1. He is blessed because of his LORD.

The LORD is his Saviour. "...the same Lord over all is rich unto all upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10.12, 13

The LORD is his Security. "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand." John 10.28

The LORD is his Sanctifier. "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all...For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are sanctified." Hebrews 10.10, 14

The LORD is his Shepherd. "The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want...Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life..." Psalm 23.1, 6

The LORD is his Strength. "The LORD is my strength and my shield: my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped..." Psalm 28.7

The LORD is his Supplier. "My God shall supply all your need according to His riches and glory." Philippians 4.19

The LORD is his Soon Coming King. "Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when He comes shall find so doing." Luke 12.43

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." Titus 2.13

Blessed Is The Man

God designed man to be blessed. Originally, He wanted Adam and Eve to enjoy bliss in a perfect environment, but they squandered that opportunity. When the First Couple were displaced out of Eden, God saw to it that they would still be happy by providing for them a happy family, yet Cain, their firstborn, marred it all. Stories upon stories of sin and evil stealing away from man that elusive dream of a blessed life. Nevertheless, God would still still pursue His original design. He went on looking for men and women who would wholeheartedly embrace His plan. He found a few...

The Psalmist, probably King David, composed a song in Psalm 112. The song hit one of the Top Ten of the Divine Billboard chart. The song begins with PRAISE YE THE LORD! Followed by BLESSED IS THE MAN...

Why is this man blessed? What is the secret of this blessed man?

It is no secret, you can see it in this chapter, and you will find it written all over the pages of Holy Writ.

to be continued...

8. SINGING WITH GRACE. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3.16

Life is a roller coaster ride. We all have ups and downs. When you are experiencing the exhillirating ups, God wants you to sing. And when you are going through the down and low, keep on singing. He wants you to sing with grace in your heart and dedicate it to the Lord, the God who gave His life for you.

"O sing unto the LORD a new song, for He has done marvelous things: His right hand, and His holy arm has gotten Him the victory." Psalm 98.1

Today, God Wants You To Enjoy Super Grace (part 4)

7. STRENGTHENING GRACE. "The God of all Grace, Who has called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you." I Peter 5.10

Most of the time, Christians are blessed with loads of benefits (Psalm 68.19), but there are times when you and I are down and out. The Apostle Peter pointed his readers to put their trust in the GOD OF ALL GRACE as they went through severe suffering and persecution. Yes, we also can trust the GOD OF ALL GRACE. He will strengthen us... He will establish us...He will settle us.

LORD, please take good care of my friends/loved ones who are going through tough times. Help them cast their anxiety upon You. Strengthen them as they resist the adversary, the Devil. Transform their difficulties into opportunities that will bring glory to the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today, God Wants You To Enjoy Super Grace (part 3)

6. SUFFICIENT GRACE. "And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." II Corinthians 12.9

The apostle Paul mentioned in this chapter that God gave him a lot of divine revelations, plus a certain "thorn in the flesh" infirmity, probably chronic ophthalmia, thus making him sick and weak. He asked God to heal him, but God said, "My grace is sufficient..."

My friend, are you in pain? are you experiencing a chronic disease? Is there something bothering you? Believe God will heal you, but if not, His grace is still available and sufficient for you. And you still glorify God through it all...because of grace.

Today, God Wants You To Enjoy Super Grace (part 2)

4. SERVICE MOTIVATED BY GRACE. "By the grace of God, I am what I am: and His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more than they all: yet not I, but by the grace of God which was with me." I Corinthians 15.10

Allow yourself to be driven by HIS GRACE when you go to work, in your office, in your school, or in your place of ministry. Great things will surely happen when you carry this GRACE attitude.

5. SANCTIFYING GRACE. "For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, in this present world." Titus 2.11, 12

As a child of God, saved by His amazing grace, He wants you to sanctify or set you apart from worldly lusts so that you will be able to stand out for Him...for His honor and glory.
