Today, God Wants You To Enjoy Super Grace (part 8)

"For the grace of that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world." Titus 2.11, 12

In this present age, the saved-by-grace-Christian faces various types of temptations, and if he is not taught about the values of grace, he would possibly revert back to his old ways and vices. That is not God's design. He assures us victory over ungodliness and worldly lusts/sensual desires. The POWER OF GRACE THAT BROUGHT TO US THAT WONDERFUL SALVATION empowers us to live soberly, righteously, and godly in the midst of this sinful and adulterous generation. APPROPRIATE THIS GRACE...today and always.

Blessed Is The Man (part 7)

  1. A family legacy of uprightness. Psalm 112.2

Blessed Is The Man (part 6)

"Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who delights greatly in His commands...the generation of the upright shall be blessed...Wealth and riches shall be in his house. His righteousness endures forever." Psalm 112.1-3

The Bible does not preach EASY BELIEVEISM AND PROSPERITY GOSPEL. History abounds with stories of many Christians who suffered martyrdom, Many believers in Christ even died because of their faith. But, they lived and died believing that there is abundant life in Jesus...that there are green pastures for them even in the presence of enemies, yes, even in the midst of adversities. They believed there is a better life.

The Psalmst did experienced the pains, but he also enjoyed the gains of the FEAR OF THE LORD. He mentioned that the family of the upright will be blessed. And in verse 3, he said, "Wealth and rich SHALL BE in his house." WOW! God promises to bless those who love to praise the LORD...Fear the LORD...obey the Word of the LORD.

"I love them who love Me, and those who seek Me early shall find Me. Riches and honor are with Me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold...That I may cause those who love Me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures." Proverbs 8:17-21

Today, God Wants You To Enjoy Super Grace (part 7)

"Therefore, as ye abound in everything, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also...to prove the sincerity of your love. For ye know the GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich." II Corinthians 8:7-9

The Apostle Paul was challenging the wealthy Corinthian believers to prove to the Lord that they were truly Christians by ABOUNDING IN GRACE. He was saying, IF YOU ARE TRUE RECIPIENTS OF GRACE, YOU WILL ABOUND IN DISPENSING/SHARING GRACE. He used two ensamples to illustrate this principle.

1. The Lord Jesus Christ. "though He was rich, He became poor..."The Son of God became The Son of man... He suffered, He was crucified, He bled, He died for all our sins that we might become sons and daughters of God. HE GAVE US SALVATION, FULL AND FREE, ALL BECAUSE OF GRACE!

2. The Macedonian Christians. These people were under severe trials, afflictions, persecution, and deep poverty, but they proved to the Lord, and to the world, that they were true recipients of Grace, they enjoyed their Christianity, they were gracious, they were willing to give within and beyond their means and capacity, "they were praying with much entreaty," they participated in ministry, they gave themselves to the Lord, and they submitted to the authority of their spiritual leader. They just obeyed the will of God. II Corinthians 8:1-5

Remember the principle: TRUE RECIPIENTS OF GRACE ARE GRACIOUS DISPENSERS OF GRACE. "It is more blessed to give, than to receive." Acts 20.35

Blessed Is The Man (part 5)

4. The Results of Being a Blessed Man

Because this man (woman) chose to praise the LORD, to fear the LORD, and to delight greatly in the Law of the LORD, God had no choice, but to bless him. God has to respect what He promised to do according to Christ"s words in Matthew 6.33, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."

WITH RESPONSIBILITY COMES BLESSINGS.

Notice what the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 112.1, 2. "...Blessed is the man...His SEED...his GENERATION shall be blessed." This man is blessed, his family is blessed, his generation is blessed, and on down the line, they, likewise, will be blessed. True, BLESSEDNESS is individual, but it also familial, even societal. BLESSEDNESS impacts the lives of others. And God does not run out of blessings. He keeps on blessing. "Praise ye the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments."

Blessed Is The Man (part 4)

"Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who delights greatly in His commands." Psalm 112.1

Why is this man (woman) blessed?

3. He delights greatly...he enjoys so much keeping and obeying God's commands...he loves God's Word with gusto...he has a large appetite for God's Word.

The principle is this: With RESPONSIBILITY comes BLESSINGS. Let us locate some scriptures to prove this point.

  • Psalm 19.7,8, "The Law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul...the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes."
  • Psalm 119.11, "Your Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against You."
  • Proverbs 2.1, 5, "My son, if you will receive my Words...then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and you will find the knowledge of God."
  • Proverbs 4.10, "Hear, O my son, and receive My sayings, and the years of your life shall be many."
  • John 14.23, "Jesus answered...if a man loves me, he will keep My Words: and My Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."
  • Joshua 1.8, "This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you must meditate therein day and night...do according to all that is written therein: for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."

WOW! prosperity and success is promised to the man or woman who "delights greatly in His commands."
